State Farm auto insurance rates in Hawaii dropped 15 percent over the past four years, the insurer said Monday.

Hawaii ranked 22nd in a listing ranking the percentage of premium declines in all of the states, the Bloomington, Ill.-based company said in a report.

New Jersey had the most savings over these four years, with 29.1 percent, in one of the states with historically high auto insurance rates. New Jersey was followed by New York with 27 percent, Colorado with 24.8 percent, Connecticut with 24.3 percent and Minnesota with 21.76 percent.

Louisiana experienced the least amount of decrease in auto insurance rates, only dropping 1.72 percent, followed by Delaware with 1.7 percent, North Dakota with 2.72 percent, Rhode Island with 3.7 percent and Florida with 6.4 percent.
