WESTFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(AMEX: WFD - News) - Never on Sunday? That's a line that won't have to apply to your banking activities anymore. For locals pressed to fit financial errands into their busy lives, Westfield Bank has created an updated model for banking. To unveil this new approach, a grand opening with a hometown Vintage Base Ball theme--complete with hot dogs, raffle drawing, and an appearance by former Yankees pitcher Jim Bouton took place at the new East Main St. branch on Monday, June 25, 2007.

The new branch on East Main St. in Westfield will be open seven days a week, with weekday hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will also be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
"We're excited to try this new concept," says Alice Babcock, Westfield Bank's Vice President of Branch Administration and Marketing. "Once it's refined, we will be looking to make all our branches similar to this one."
Tellers at the new branch have all been trained as customer service representatives as well, which makes them qualified to handle any customer transaction. Babcock says this new operations model was designed with the needs of busy customers in mind.
"This means that we will no longer be sending anyone to sit and wait for 'someone in customer service' to wait on them," she says. "The goal here is to provide a unique customer experience. For that we need the right people, and we have them."
Denise Begley will serve as the Business Development Manager at the new branch. Stephanie Morales will be the new Operations Manager, and Mary Duclos will serve as the Client Relations Manager. In her role, Duclos will focus on the customer service experience.
"We want to make sure we are matching each customer's need to his or her expectations," Babcock says.
At the June 25 event Bouton, who is president of the Vintage Base Ball Federation drew and announced the 20 raffle winners of a Vintage Base Ball World Series package. Each winner received two tickets to the entire series to be held in Westfield this summer, along with an autographed copy of a book written by Bouton, a stadium seat, and a picnic basket.
The Bank is headquartered in Westfield, Massachusetts and operates through 11 banking offices in Agawam, East Longmeadow, Holyoke, Southwick, Springfield, West Springfield and Westfield, Massachusetts. The Bank's deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
