MCLEAN, Va. (AP) -- Capital One Financial Corp. on Monday named its chief operating officer for banking as president of the division amid a management realignment at the bank holding company.
Lynn Pike, COO for the company's banking business, will become president of the division on Aug. 6.
She replaces John Kanas, who was chief executive of North Fork Bancorp until it was acquired by Capital One in 2006. Kanas will also resign from the board of directors on Aug. 6.
In addition, Michael C. Slocum was named executive vice president of commercial banking. He will replace John Bohlsen, head of commercial banking, on Aug. 6. Slocum spent most of his career at Wachovia Bank, where he most recently headed the company's real estate financial services division.
Carolyn Drexel, who is now executive vice president for retail administration at North Fork, will expand her role to become executive vice president for consumer and private banking.
Slocum and Drexel will report directly to Pike.
Shares of Capital One rose 24 cents Monday to close at $78.85.
