The recently merged Willow Grove Bancorp, the holding company for Willow Grove Bank and First Financial Bank, said Thursday that it has changed its name to Willow Financial Bancorp. All 28 branches now operate as Willow Financial.
The Wayne, Pa.-based banking company also said that on Friday its stock will trade on NASDAQ Global Select Market under the new ticker symbol "WFBC" to reflect the name change. The previous symbol was "WGBC".
"Our new name, Willow Financial Bancorp, builds on our heritage and our vision for the future," said Donna M. Coughey, president and CEO. "The new name now showcases the breadth and depth of banking and financial services that Willow Financial Bank provides both current and prospective clients."
Willow Grove Bank, with 14 branches in eastern Montgomery County, Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia, and First Financial Bank, with 13 branches in Chester County, completed a merger earlier this year and have added an additional branch.
