USAA ranked highest in the industry in customer satisfaction in the homeowners insurance market, according to a new study by J.D. Power and Associates that is based on a survey policyholders.
The local financial services company scored 896 out of 1,000 possible points on the J.D. Power National Homeowners Insurance Study.
J.D. Power surveyed 9,045 homeowners insurance policyholders to determine the rankings. The industry average score was 761.
Customers were asked to evaluate their insurers' policies on price, billing and payment, interaction with the company and claims.
The study also looked at other factors, such as, identity theft insurance, how to evaluate replacement costs and sensitivity to price.
USAA provides financial planning, insurance, investments and banking products for military members and their families.
