TALLAHASSEE — A bill that would reduce the state's share of insurance payments after a catastrophic storm was unanimously approved this afternoon by a powerful House committee.
The bill (HB 7057) could result in average windstorm premium increases of up to 7 percent in Palm Beach County and 2 percent statewide in an effort to cut the state's Hurricane Catastrophe Fund from $28 billion to $25 billion.
