American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that its Board of Directors has elected three new AIG Senior Vice Presidents and four new AIG Vice Presidents.

Hans K. Danielsson was elected Senior Vice President, Investments, and Daniel S. Glaser and Julio Portalatin were each elected AIG Senior Vice President, Foreign General Insurance.

The Board also elected the following Vice Presidents: Steven Guterman, who is currently Senior Managing Director and Head of Business Development for AIG Global Investment Group (AIGGIG); Jeffrey L. Hayman, American International Underwriters (AIU) Regional President and Chief Operating Officer, Far East Region and Chairman, AIU Insurance Company Japan; Gordon Knight, AIG Domestic Brokerage Group Sales and Marketing Division President; and Raymond E. Lee, AIU Personal Lines Division President. The executives will retain their current responsibilities.

Commenting on the new corporate officer positions, Martin J. Sullivan, AIG President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “These appointments reflect the overall depth and quality of AIG’s management team and are very well deserved.”

Hans Danielson, AIGGIG Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Equity, joined AIGGIG in 1998 and was elected AIG Vice President, Investments in 2002. As leader of AIGGIG’s equity teams, he is responsible for directing AIG’s equity investment activities worldwide. Prior to joining AIGGIG, Mr. Danielsson had more than 20 years of global markets investment experience, including Chief Investment Officer for Institutional Equities with SE Banken Fonder and at JP Morgan in London.

Daniel S. Glaser, Managing Director of AIG Europe (UK) Limited, and AIU Regional President, UK/Ireland Division, is responsible for AIG’s general insurance operations in the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President of AIG’s Domestic Brokerage Group, responsible for its North American Field Operations and Market Segments. He was elected AIG Vice President in 2002. Mr. Glaser joined the AIG Companies in 2000 as President of AIG Global Energy after 18 years in the insurance brokerage community in the United States and overseas.

Julio Portalatin has served as President of the AIU Accident & Health Division since 2002. Prior to that, he served in New York as President, AIU Personal Lines Division; in Mexico as AIU Latin American Division Regional Vice President, and General Manager of Seguros Interamericana, S.A., AIG’s Mexican property-casualty insurance company; and in New York as AIU Latin American Division Executive Vice President. He joined the AIG Companies in 1993 as a Lexington Insurance Company Vice President, Personal Lines. He was elected Vice President, Foreign General Insurance in 2001.

As Senior Managing Director and Head of Business Development for AIGGIG, Steven Guterman is responsible for AIGGIG global institutional asset management efforts, including business development, marketing, client service and product development. He joined AIGGIG in 2001 through the acquisition of American General Investment Management (AGIM), where he was Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Asset Management. Prior to joining AGIM in 1998, Mr. Guterman was a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Fixed Income Portfolio Management at Salomon Brothers Asset Management, where he served 15 years.

Jeffrey Hayman has served as AIU Regional President and Chief Operating Officer, Far East Region since 2004 and Chairman of AIU Insurance Company-Japan since 2003. Prior to that, he had served as Senior Vice President, Direct Marketing-Asia, responsible for AIG’s life and property-casualty insurance direct marketing businesses in Japan, Korea, Greater China, Southeast Asia and India. Before that, Mr. Hayman had served as Regional Vice President, Direct and Sponsored Marketing, AIG Companies in Japan & Korea since 2001. He joined AIU in 1998 as AIU Regional Vice President, Personal Lines in Japan and Korea and was later named Chairman of the AIG property-casualty insurance direct marketing unit in Japan, American Home Assurance Company-Japan.

Gordon Knight joined the AIG Companies in 1982. He has served since 2005 as President of the Sales and Marketing Unit of AIG’s Domestic Brokerage Group (DBG), responsible for the sales, marketing and communications functions of all DBG market segments. Prior to that, Mr. Knight had served since 2000 as President of AIG WorldSource, which provides insurance programs to U.S.-based multinationals and foreign companies with operations in the United States. Before that, Mr. Knight served as DBG Regional Vice President, Southeast Region; President of AI South Insurance Company; AIU Vice President, Financial Lines; Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines for AIU Japan; and AIU Financial Lines Regional Vice President in Hong Kong.

Raymond Lee was appointed President of the AIU Personal Lines Division in 2002. He joined the AIG Companies in 1990 as AIU Worldwide Personal Lines Underwriting Manager, based in New York, and in 1992 was named AIU Vice President, Personal Lines. In 1995 he was named Regional Vice President, Personal Lines for the AIU Southeast Asia and Greater China regions, based in Hong Kong. He moved to Tokyo in 2000 when he was named Regional Vice President, Personal Lines for the AIU Far East region.
