Prudential and Long Term Care Resources Establish Long-Term Care Discount Program for Teachers and Professional Educators

NEWARK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prudential Financial, Inc.’s (NYSE:PRU - News) Group Insurance business, in partnership with Long Term Care Resources (LTCR), established a new affinity marketing program offering discounts on long-term care insurance for teachers and professional educators. The Educators Long Term Care (LTC) Discount Program is a comprehensive long-term care insurance initiative available to more than 63 professional teacher/educator associations beginning this month, and has the potential of reaching over 1 million teachers.

The Prudential individual long-term care insurance product will be offered to affinity organization members at a discounted rate. Sales professionals affiliated with LTCR will market Prudential’s LTCi product as part of a comprehensive educational program that LTCR developed for participating associations. “Educators understand the importance of financial planning. The reality though is like many Americans, many in the profession make enough income to accumulate assets but not enough to self-insure the potential huge expenses of long-term care,” said Eric Holtzman, vice president of Long-Term Care Insurance, Prudential. “The Educators LTC Discount Program can help teachers and administrators protect their retirement assets and personal savings from the potential high costs of long term care.”

“We are excited to be working with Prudential LTC, and look forward to successfully bringing this program to these members,” said LTCR Chief Executive Officer Joe Lautiero. “While some large organizations in this market are only interested in an exclusive one-size fits all approach, we know from experience that long-term care is different and that a flexible program meeting the needs of a diverse member base is critical to success.”

LTCR evaluated various opportunities with teacher organizations and conducted extensive market analysis to develop the Educators LTC Discount Program. Holtzman noted, “Prudential has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with LTCR, and their experience is critical in designing and implementing superior LTC affinity marketing programs. Combining their marketing expertise with our product is a winning combination for educators looking to address their long-term care needs.”

Long Term Care Resources (LTCR) specializes in the design, implementation and management of long-term care insurance programs (LTCi) for affinity organizations. As one the nations leading independent distributors of LTCi, LTCR is known for its leadership position in the affinity market doing business with over 200 professional associations and alumni groups.
