NAMIC has learned from its state trade association partner, the Iowa Insurance Institute, that the Iowa Insurance Division has issued Bulletin 08-11, which bans any possible rebate to a policyholder.

By reversing a lower court’s decision that found lead pigment manufacturers liable for childhood lead poisoning under public nuisance law, the Rhode Island Supreme Court prevented an unwarranted, dangerous, and unpredictable expansion of liability, according to NAMIC.

The ability of customer service representatives to resolve customer issues is the most critical driver of customer satisfaction, loyalty, and word-of-mouth recommendations, according to CFI Group’s second annual Contact Center Satisfaction Index (CCSI). Overall satisfaction with call centers improved, as the CCSI gained 3 percent to a score of 72 on the index’s 100-point scale.

Insurance Department to Hold Hearings on Compensation for Agents and Brokers Jointly with Attorney General

The New York Insurance Department will hold joint public hearings on compensation arrangements for insurance agents and brokers with the Office of the Attorney General, Insurance Superintendent Eric Dinallo announced July 1. The hearings will cover issues including contingent and supplemental commissions, producer compensation disclosure, and deceptive or anti-competitive practices.
