Alice Baskin of Lebanon Rehab and Specialty Care has been promoted to director of nursing. Baskin, who previously served as a resident care manager of the facility, will now oversee clinical care.

Chy Charles has been appointed group sales manager for Corvallis Tourism. Charles will be responsible for developing leads in the conference and group markets for Corvallis. She was previously a sales and convention services manager as well as a production manager for the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla.

Greg Remedios has joined Citizens Bank as assistant vice president and audit risk manager. Remedios has a degree in political science and business administration from the University of Oregon. He has eight years of experience in the banking industry, most recently as an assistant vice president and audit supervisor position with Umpqua Bank.

Lois Strode has joined the staff at The Art of Touch Massage and Wellness Center in downtown Albany. She has been a licensed massage therapist for 13 years and offers deep tissue massage as well as herbal, mud and seaweed wraps.

Corvallis City Recorder Kathy Louie was recently installed as 2006-07 second vice president of the Oregon Association of Municipal Recorders. Louie has been an active member of OAMR since 2001 and has previously served as chair of the Mentoring and Leadership Development Committee.

Dava Behrens, a real estate broker at Coldwell Banker Valley Brokers in Corvallis, recently attended the company’s Elite Retreat. Only the top-producing 7 percent of the 127,000 Coldwell Banker sales associates worldwide qualify to attend the three-day conference.

Ed Pfannmuller, owner of The Adobe Resort in Yachats, has been named Restaurateur of the Year by the Oregon Restaurant Association and Oregon Lodging Association. Pfannmuller and his father purchased the old Adobe Motel in 1977.

Credit Services of Oregon Inc. has been certified by ACA International, a trade association for debt collection companies. Based in Roseburg, the company has offices in Eugene, Lebanon, Coos Bay and Grants Pass.

Neil Forsberg and Corsair Leasing Group Inc., both of Corvallis, are new members of the American Angus Association. The association has more than 34,000 active adult and junior members and keeps computerized records on 14 million registered Angus cattle.

Jim Fullmer of Hoskins Berry Farm in Philomath has been chosen as a delegate to Terra Madre 2006, an international conference of the Slow Food movement to be held this month in Turin, Italy. Fullmer is the director of Demeter USA, part of a worldwide agriculture and food certification organization.

Riverside Window & Door of Corvallis has new owners. Lance and Holly Gibbs have bought the shares previously held by Warren and Susie Lisser. Lance Gibbs, who has 23 years’ experience in the building industry, will serve as president of the company. Holly Gibbs, who served in the Navy and is completing a master’s degree in information technology at Oregon State University, will serve as vice president, secretary and treasurer. Riverside Window & Door sells new and replacement windows, doors, millwork, window and door hardware, skylights and stair systems.

Ace Rooter Service has opened for business at 1230 N.W. Overlook Drive in Corvallis. Owner Jim Bartholomeusz has several years’ experience working for commercial drain cleaning and plumbing companies. Profit & Loss

Rite Aid Corp. has announced financial results for its second quarter ended Sept. 2. Revenues were $4.29 billion, up 3.8 percent from $4.13 billion in the prior year second quarter. Same-store sales increased 3.8 percent over the year-ago period. Net loss for the second quarter was $300,000, or 2 cents per diluted share, was less than last year’s second quarter net loss of $1.6 million or 3 cents per diluted share. The decrease in net loss was primarily due to a $5.4 million increase in adjusted EBITDA and an income tax benefit of $3.2 million.

Reinvestment

Meyer Memorial Trust has awarded three grants in Linn County. The Mid-Willamette Family YMCA in Albany was awarded $150,000 to help install a pool in its new facility. Oregon Mennonite Residential Services of Albany was awarded $67,643 to construct of a group home in McMinnville. And the city of Harrisburg received $31,900 to help the Harrisburg Actively Reaching Together family resource center.
